Abstract:Foreign language learning, compared with native language learning, is a more complicated psychological process. Interest is the most important psychological factor in students lerning English well. This paper, based on the studetns’ cognitive level and characteristic of age, analyzes the interest alteration of the students in English learning from psychology, pedagogy and linguistics. It is a contribution to the discussion of some important approaches of arousing students’ interest in learning Engish by focusing on how to foster, arouse and protect the students’ interest.
