B You can also say - Jim hurt his arm while playing tennis. Be careful when crossing the road. C 表达两个先后顺序的行为 Having finished her work, she went home. After finishing her work, she went home. D 表达两个先后相连的瞬间动作时，直接用doing而不用having done Taking a key out of his pocket, he opened the door. E 表示状态或原因 Feeling tired, I went to bed early. Being unemployed, he hasn’t got much money. Not having a car, she finds it difficult to get around. 较口语，写作中更经常用到此类从句。 Relative clauses – who/that/which who/that/which引导的关系从句 A The woman who lives next door is a doctor. What was the name of the man who lent u the money? B 很多情况可以用that来替换who The woman that lives next door is a doctor. C 指代事物用that/which，不用who Where is the cheese that/which was in the fridge? D 省略关系代词的情况 The woman (who) I want to visit was away on holiday. Have you found the keys (that) you lost? Is there anything (that) I can do? 当关系代词做从句的宾语成分的时候，我们可以省略之 Relative clauses – whose/whom/where whose/whom/where引导的关系从句 A 大多数时候指代“人的” What’s the name of the man whose car you borrowed? 试比较 I met a man who knows you. I met a man whose sister knows you. B The woman whom I wanted to see was away on holiday. C 介词+whom The woman with whom he fell in love left him after a few weeks. Extra information clauses 非限制性定语从句 A 试分别比较下面两组句子的不同: The woman who lives next door is a doctor. My brother Jim, who lives next door, is a doctor. We stayed at the hotel (that) Ann recommended to us. We stayed at the Grand Hotel, which Ann recommended to
