Death of A Salesman;Setting：;Main Characters (Analysis):; Willys life falls into disorder at this time. To achieve success, he sacrificed principles and betrayed his family. He blames his behavior on loneliness, actually it is the result of his need for attention. The affair is a betrayal of Linda and the boys, who center their lives on him. Once he cheats on Linda, Willy denigrates（玷污） himself, and this diminution（改变） of his character is unrecoverable.; 2. Biff Loman Prior to the Boston trip, Biff believes in Willys success, potential, and inevitable greatness. But after that, he loses all respect for Willy and considers him to be a phony little fake, he no longer believes in, or goes along with, Willy’s grand fantasies of success. Instead, Biff despises(轻视) his father and everything he represents. ; The affair negates all of Willys tales of greatness that have motivated Biff up to this point. As a result, Willy is responsible for Biffs downward spiral. Biff did not attend summer school or graduate because of Willy’s perfidy（不诚实）. Now he is incapable of achieving success because he possesses no faith in his father or himself.; 3.The Woman The Woman is a nameless but a key character who has a continuing affair with Willy. When Biff finds the Woman in Willys hotel room, he begins his course of self-destructive behavior. ;Summary：; is simply borrowing his bathroom, and orders her to leave, but she refuses until getting the stockings he promised. Willy pretends that the woman is a buyer, but Biff starts to cry. Willy admits his relationship with the woman, but claims that it is because he was lonely. Willy orders Biff to help him pack, but he resists. Biff calls Willy a liar and a phony little fake.;Thank You!
