PROCEDURES:
Getting ready
? put four picture cards up on the board and write the board and write the letters A,B, C and D.

? Draw a line from A to the history picture card.

? Ask s1 to come up to the board.
? T: where’s the sofa?
? Have s1 circle the correct word.

? Point to the words and have various Ss say the words.
? Ask Ss to look at the pictures.
? T: now listen to the tape and choose the right word.
? Play the tape and stop after each number.
? Let Ss repeat the sentences and circle the key work.
? T: now connect the words to the pictures.
? Point to the example.
? Continue with the rest of the tape.
2. Getting ready
? write ce, f, w and ph the top of the board.
? Also write “ ater” and “fen “and oto” and “ ork”.
? Invite four Ss up and have them draw lines to match the letters and then say their words.
Using the book
? T: look at the letters and match them. Then match the words to their pictures.
? Put Ss in pairs to help each other.
