广东版开心英语4A unit9 what are you doing?the third period TEACHING AIMS: students can ask about and describe what people are doing TEACHING KEY: to help students to comprehend Conversation and vocabulary,target,sounds TEACHING AIDS: pictures ,tape and some transparencies TEACHING PERIOD: the third period PROCEDURES: Practice 1 Getting ready Have Ss look at pictures in the book.. T: look at number 1. what’s he doing? Point to the first picture and model the sentence, e.g. he’s playing baseball. Have Ss make sentences about the other pictures. Model if necessary. Using the book T: let’s listen to the tape. Play the tape for number 1, then pause. T: repeat the sentence. [Ss: I’m playing basketball.] T: circle the sentence “ I ‘m playing basketball.” Continue with the remaining three numbers, pausing after each one. Check Ss’ work by asking individual Ss to read the sentences they circled. Extension activity TB p.96 Practice 2 Getting ready Hold up the picture cards. T: what’s he/she doing? Or what are they doing? Have Ss answer as a class. Ask individual Ss to come to the front of the class. Make sure there is at least one boy, one girl and two or more Ss together to do actions. Whisper one of the words to the student(s) to act out. T: what’s he/she doing? Or what are they doing? Accept several gorses form Ss. The student(S) reveals the action by pointing to one of the cards, e.g. I’ m (sleeping). T: he’s/they’re (sleeping). Repeat. [Ss: he’s/she’s/they’re (sleeping)] Using the book T: now read and answer the questions. Have Ss read and answer the questions. Put Ss into small groups to ask and answer these four questions. Extension activity TB p.96 Song Getting ready Point to the lyrics and read the first line. T: what are they doing ? repeat.[Ss: what are they doing?] T: look at the pictures. What are they doing ?
