Present Ss a picture that surprises all the students, like the pictures under the sea or the earth, and ask Ss about their feelings. Look at this picture. How do you feel when you see such a picture? 2. Tell the Ss that our world is full of amazing things and write the new word “amazing” on the Bb. 3. Ask the Ss questions, like “Can you tell me some amazing things?” 4. Show the first picture of Part A and help teach the new words using the picture: T: What can you see in the picture? S: The Sun and the Earth. T: Which one is larger, the Sun or the Earth? S: Yes, the Sun. The Sun is about 1, 300, 000 times larger than the Earth. 5. Take turns to show the other three pictures: There are three more sentences about amazing things. Please read them in pairs and find the new words: same, birth, stop growing. Step 2 Practice 1.
