AbstractThe mobile Internet is one of the current hot topics and will last for a long period of time. With the rapid development of a variety of mobile devices and telecommunications industry, we entered the era of mobile Internet unconsciously. The functions of traditional Internet will be slowly transferred to the mobile Internet. This process will give birth to plenty of Internet applications on every mobile platform.This paper focuses on the design of Internet applications on the mobile platform with the great growth of mobile Internet. With the full analysis of the characteristics of Android platform and the basic characteristics of the REST-style services. It aims to put forward ideas and methods of the Android platform in the design and development of client software based on the REST-style services. On the basis of summarizing the existing software then take full advantage of the characteristics of the system components of the Android platform like Activity, Service, and Content Provider to build some common design patterns. By reading this article may provide strong help for the design and development of such applications. And it helps developers clarify how to design efficient and stable REST client software.On this basis, according to one of the model, design and development a sample application called “Weibo Tracker”. The work is to demonstrate the design patterns are useful. The main function of the sample application is sending Weibo updates automatically when the pre-defined event is triggered. The innovative application has the currently most popular element called “SoLoMo” in mobile Internet. It reflects the social element by using Weibo?s rich REST API, reflects mobile element with the mobile terminals, and reflects location element with Android location service. The design concept is for sharing all activities of Android device. I believe Weibo enthusiasts can use it to satisfy the ultimate desire of their own information-sharing.Key Words:Mobile
