Step1 Warming-up
1. Review the text of Unit 1
2. Show some pictures , find words that have the following meaning in Activity 1 .
3. Show a map of the world , ask the students to look at the map of the world and talk something
about the big cities of the world
4. Introduce the new words .
Step 2 Reading
1. Show some pictures and Say what the people in the photos are doing . .
2.Play the tape and ask the students to listen carefully .
3. Play the tape and have them read and follow .
Step 3 Work in pairs
1. Say what the people in the photos are doing . You can use the words in the box in Activity 2 .
2. Check( √ ) the true sentences in Activity 3 .
Step 4 Writing
1. Find out what time it is now in London, Moscow , New York and Los Angeles . Write sentences saying what people are doing orarent doing . Join sentences with and .
2. Read the postcard and answer the questions in Activity 5 .
3. Write Bettys postcard to her grandmother from the Great Wall .
