AbstractOwning Three Gorges the unique attraction, the Three Gorges reservoir area (TGRA) is in full swing. However, as being hot doesn’t mean a sound development, we should stop to cool down and reevaluate the brand image of Three Gorges. Beneath its flourish surface, all kinds of problems will spurt out anytime like dark waves under the calm water. Conflicts between human beings and nature, among human beings and areas are growing in this large area. If these problems can not be tackled promptly, a collapse of Three Gorges total image and stagnancy of Three Gorges tourism will come soon. Solving these problems needs the guidance of ecological civilization, which advocates Harmonious Relations between human beings and the nature, and among human beings ourselves.This article will first explain the interactive relationship between ecological civilizationand sustainable tourism, which reflected in the seven aspects including concept of ecological civilization, eco-environment, ecological system, ecological science and technology, ecological economy, eco-tourism, eco-consumption, after summarizing the theory of ecological civilization and sustainable development. After these, an interactive model will be built. Secondly, the advantageous conditions will be listed in three aspects like natural environment, tourism resources and community relationship. On the third hand, the restricting factors in sustainable development of TGRA tourism.
