AbstractAsInternetprogressrapidly,Opticalnetworkisfoundationofhigh-bandwidthcommunicationsystems,especiallyfortheopticalaccessnetwork.Amongthemainopticalpassivenetworks(PONs),conventionalfibermonitormethodscannotdistinguishopticalfiberbranches.Tosolvethisproblem,schemesofOpticalTime-DomainReflectometers(OTDR),usingfiberbragggratings,opticalswitchesandothersolutions,havebeenproposed.However,itstillcannotbeappliedinopticalsplitterandthiswouldbreakthepassivefeatureofOpticalDistributionNetwork.Inthisthesis,anovelschemeofopticalsplitterbasedonArrayedWaveguideGrating(AWG)isproposed.WavelengthDivisio
