AbstractThegradualmaturenessofthesensortechnologymakesitpossibletoproducethelow-cost,lowpowerconsumption,multi-functionalmicro-sensorsinalargescale.Informationacquirementfromsensorshaschangedfromtheunitaryinthepasttointegration,miniaturizationandnetworking.Thewirelesssensornetworks(WirelessSensorNetworks,WSNs)thereforeemerges.AWSNisatask-orientedandself-organizingnetworksystem,consistingofalargenumberofmicrosensornodesdeployedinthedesignatedareasbyradiocommunication.Currently,theWSNshavebeenappliedintoavarietyoffields,withtheintrusiondetectiontobeanimportantapplication.TheWSNs-basedintrusiondetectionhasdevelopedintoakeytechnologyinthesafetynetworkprograms.Duetothesmallsize,high-densitydistribution,storage,computingandtransferringdatacharacteristicsofsensornodes,WSNs-basedintrusiondetectionhasthecapabilitytomonitoranddetectintrusionwithinthenetworkintime,andtransferstheinformationtothenetworkadministratorbywirelesscommunication.ThisthesishasstudiedtheWSNs-basedintrusiondetection.Itfirstlyinvestigatesthesensorpredefineddistributioneffectonintrusiondetection.IntheresearchoftheWSNs-basedintrusiondetection,whatkindofpredefineddistributioncanleadtoahighlyefficientintrusiondetectionisavaluableresearchproblem.Inthisthesis,twodifferentpredefineddistributionarestudiedcomparatively,i.e.,theGaussiandistributionandtheuniformdistribution,ontheperformanceofintrusiondetection.Byinvestigatingtheeffectofthenumberofsensornodesandsensornodes’sensingrangeonintrusiondetectiondistanceinwirelesssensornetworks,thispaperanalyzesthetwosortsofdistributionontheefficiencyofintrusiondetection.Experimentalresultsshowthat,withtheincreaseofthenumberofsensornodesorsensingrangeofsensornodes,intrusiondistancebecameshorter.Inaddition,forasmallvalueofsensornumberorashortsensingrangeofindividualsensors,theGaussiandistributionpresentsalowerintrusiondistance,indicatingabetterintrusiondetectionperformance.Foralargevalueofsensornumberorabigsensingrange,theuniformdistributionpresentsabetterintrusiondetectionca
