A Contrastive Study of Differences between China and America in Family Education Abstract Education appears and develops with human society. It is a kind of social acts that emphasize cultivating people’s quality and ability. It is also a major mode to inherit culture and social experience. Family education, school education and social education are three major components of national education, of which family education is an essential part. Family education is one of the earliest and most important forms of education. It plays a vital role in the formation of children’s thinking mode and world view. Nowadays, social development needs high-quality people and a good family education is the key to the cultivation of the talents. Because of the differences between China and America in historical background and the understanding of education, the ways of family education are also not the same. The significant differences in family education between China and America, different traditions, values and educational methods have made the sharp distinctions in terms of children’s behaviors. This thesis, introduces foreign advanced educational concepts and training methods, and tries to provide some enlightening views and suggestions to Chinese family education reforms.
