II. Teaching Method: Communicative Approach, Task-based learning and Writing on blackboard III. Key points: 1. Express dreadfulness. 2. Listen to the following short conversations. I. Speaking Work in pairs according to the instructions given in A B. A: Situation: You are very good friends, and today you just met each other on campus. Speaker A: Very good at singing, but just dare not to attend the contest. Tips for speaking:  Express dreadfulness.  Don’t have enough confidence.  Be afraid of losing. B: Situation: You are very good friends, and today you just met each other on campus. Speaker B: Try to cheer A up. Tips for speaking:  Comment on A’s talent in singing.  Encourage A to take part in.  Let A know the importance of participation. II. Sample Dialogue T: Hello, Jack! Nice meeting you here! You look worried! J: Well, to tell the truth, I’m really hesitating on whether attending the singing contest or not. T: Then why not? I’m always considering you as the best singer in our class. IV. Sample Talk Friends are important. It has often been said that,” no man can live like an island”. As our population increases in size, this is becoming increasingly true. A person will have trouble coping with society without friends. And friends are wonderful. It is nice to enjoy the warmth radiating from good friends.
