AbstractSincethestartof‘reformandopenness’,alongwiththedeepeningofeconomicandpoliticalsystemtransformation,China’snon-profitorganizationsespeciallythegrassrootsoneshaveundergonearapidgrowth.Afteryearsofexploration,developmentaswellastransition,thepresentnon-profitorganizationshavemadegreatcontributionsinvariousareasanddifferentdegreestomakingupfordeficiencieswhichexistinthepublicservicesprovidedbygovernmentandmarket.Asaprofessionalhelpingactivitywithlong-perioddevelopmentandimprovement,socialworkhasbecomethemainprovidingmeansofsocialwelfareserviceandobtainedwideacceptance.Professionalsocialworkoriginatedfromvolunteerservice.Throughdevelopmentandtransformationofmanystages,nowadayssocialworkandvolunteerservicecoexistinvariousactivitiesofgrassrootsnon-profitorganizationsandtheyareperceivedasimportantwaytojointlypromotetheserviceofnon-profitinstitutions.Butcomparedwithvolunteerservice,professionalsocialworksharesahighersimilaritywithnon-profitorganizations,becauseofthesimilaraims,objectives,serviceareasandcontentsofthesetwoparties.Furthermore,hugespecialtystrengthsofsocialworkstandout(includinguniqueprofessionalvalues,scientificandsystematicmethods,andskillstohelppeople,etc.),whichmakesitmoreadaptabletotheneedsofnon-profitorganizationsgrowth.Therefore,toacertainextent,theeffectivecombinationofbothsidescanbetterpromotetheirmutualdevelopment.BasedonthespecificsurveyofYunnanXorganizationwhichplaysaroleinHproject,thisdissertationwhichproceedsfromtheviewpointofdifferencesandinteractionbetweensocialworkandvolunteerserviceinregardtoprovidingassistanceaimstoinvestigatethecurrentsituationofsocialworkinterventioninthegrassrootsnon-profitorganizations,andexcavatethepotentialspacewheresocialworkcanbefurtherinvolvedandappliedinthegrowthofnon-profitorganizations.Meanwhile,thewriteralsomakesadiscussiononthedifficultyfacedbyfurthersocial-workinterventionanditsinfluencefactors.Moreover,relatedsuggestionsareproposedtoexplorethewin-winstrategybetweengrassrootsnon-profitorganizationsandsoc
