Alaska Venture Journey Management Overview All Shell employees and contractors traveling on behalf of the Alaska Venture must follow the Alaska Venture Journey Management Plan. The plan covers all travel types (by Individual, Group, Work Crew), modes (by Commercial air, Charter air, and road travel by motor vehicle (personal, rental and/or commercial)) and reasons (temporary visits and work assignments). The overarching objective of this Journey Management Plan is traveler safety, and the plan aligns with our Alaska Venture Goal Zero objectives: Keep it Safe, Keep it Clean and Respect our neighbors. As set forth in this plan, Alaska Logistics will arrange all travel in Alaska beyond Anchorage and in Canada beyond Inuvik. They will also track traveler’s progress through the journey using the iLogisitcs GLMS (Global Logistics Management System). To manage this process, Shell Alaska Logistics has established the Alaska Journey Management Group and a dedicated phone line for 24/7 service at 907-771-7233 (SAFE). Before you travel, you need to be sure you are prepared. This may include: taking required training, having specific credentials, understanding potential hazards, possessing PPE, awareness of health considerations, knowing location check-in/check-out process, knowing security requirements, and understanding group travel requirements. Note also that all baggage taken to a Shell Facility/Location is subject to search, and prohibited items are subject to seizure. Baggage x-ray and physical searches may be performed at Shell’s discretion.
