Parents Differ from Children in Their Career Choice The question of who should be responsible for planning their career often causes problems for many children. Parents think that they know their children well enough to decide what kind of job suits them. They are afraid that their children are too young to decide their future on their own. However, many children would argue that they should be left free to make their own choices. This is a typical phenomenon especailly in China. Children rely on their parents when they want allowances, but for more important issues they try to be independent. The other aspect of career choice is that parents and their children are often different in their opinions of the ideal profession. Parents would prefer children to choose some professions that are stable and could bring prestige and economic benefits. But some children would rather choose professions that are challenging and require independent and creative thinking.The Hazards of Movie-goingAlthough I love movies, I’ve found that there are drawbacks to movie-going. One problem is just the inconvenience of it all. It can take me long time to drive to the theater and find a parking spot. When you got stuck in traffic jam during a rush hour, you may even miss the beginning of a movie. Another problem is my lack of self-control at the theater. I often stuff myself with unhealthy calorie-laden snacks for the limited choices. If you I want to go to the restroom, I can’t pause the movie just as what I do to fetch a cup of tea when I watch TV at home.Though the stereo sound effects are much better, there is a worst problem, which is with some of the other movie-goers. Kids run up and down the aisle. It’s noisy and messy in the theater.
