Ⅰ.Teaching aims:
1.To understand conversations about animals in danger.
2.To master the important phrases and sentences know about Infinitive structures.
3.To learn to protect the animals.
Ⅱ.Key points:
1.Key phrases:learn about、think about、 make me sad、take away、live in peace、animals in danger、need to do sth、find out
2.Key structures:It was interesting to learn about the Wolong Panda Reserve.
I was so excited to see the pandas at last.
We need to protect them better. etc.
Ⅲ. Important and difficult points:
To talk about animals in danger and to protect them.
Infinitive structures: to + V.
Ⅳ.Teaching aids: OHP
Ⅴ.Teaching procedures:
Step 1: Lead-in
T:Do you like animals? Ss: Yes/No, I do (not).
T:How many animals do you know? Ss: Panada、tiger、dog……
Step2:Guessing game
Show some pictures of the animals part by part, ask the students to guess and try to describe them briefly.
Q:What is happening to them?
Step3: Listening and thinking
Listen to the recording and finish two questions, then check the answers together. (P72. Activity2)
Think out any other animals that are in danger. Show them some pictures of other animals in danger: Koala Bear、dolphin、alligator, etc.
Step4: Discussion
Discuss (4 Ss/ group): Why are the animals in danger?
Show the pictures about the it , summary the reason: hunting and killing , pollution, etc.
Step5: Listening
Pre-listening
Read the questions individually. (P73. Activity4)
While-listening
(1).Listen to the recording carefully, underline the useful expressions.
(2).Listen again and read after it, answer the questions.
