METHODS:Fiftyhemiplegicinpatientswithin4monthsafterstroke,whose AshworthmusculartoneevaluationwasduringgradeI一Ⅲ.Patientswith conscious/mental/intellectualdisorder,agnosiaandagraxiaoftheinjured limb,Parkinsonssyn~ome,epilepsy,waterelectrolytedisturbance,carrying cardiacpacemaker,hadseveremalnutrition,severecardiacandpulmonary diseases,andthosewhowereincooperativewiththetreatment,wereexclud- ed.AUthepatientswererandomlydividedintotreatmentgroup(n=25)and controlgroup(n=25).Patientsinbothgroupsreceivedroutinedrugtreat- mentandbasicrehabilitativetraining,whilethoseinthetreatmentgroupwere treatedwithneuralfacilitationfor4weekscombinedwithmuscularspasm machinefor10or20days.Themotorfunctionandspasticleveloflimbswere evaluatedwithsimpleFuel-MeyerscaleandAshworthrgraderespectively beforeandaftert
