宗族意識與地域文化之研究 ──以劉日燕宗族為例 A Study on the Migrating and Developing History of Hakka Ancestors in Miaoli —Taking Rh-Yen Liu’S Family as an Individual Case 許素娥 建台中學教師 張民光 國立聯合大學苗栗學研究中心主任 黃尚煃 國立聯合大學語文中心講師 摘 要 清朝雍正乾隆年間，廣東、福建一帶客家人大量移民台灣，北台灣的苗栗是客家人 移墾的大本營。現今全台灣以苗栗地區客家人佔最多比重之人口，全縣百分之七十以上 是客家人。本文旨在以文獻資料及口述歷史為依據，探討劉日燕先生如何營建其宗族組 織，而展露出地方文化之特色。其祖先於雍正十二年，從廣東大埔移墾苗栗，歷經近三 百年之發展後，營造了一個以來台祖之名『劉士朝』為家族宗親會名稱──「士朝園」 之個案，分析其家族來台後在苗栗之發展概況，所遭遇之移墾問題；並從客家文化之傳 承與發展，詮釋其「日久他鄉即故鄉」，在苗栗在地化之歷程。 關鍵字：地域，客家，劉日燕，分鬮字，宗族 135 Abstract This paper is aimed to discuss the Migrating and Developing History of Hakka Ancestors in Miaoli —Taking Rh-Yen Liu’s family as an Individual Case. A lot of Hakka people have migrated from Mainland China to Taiwan in order to look for the opportunities of making a better life. Shih-Chao-Yuan ， family name Liu, was one of the examples during Chen-Lun period of Ghin Dynasty. The Miaoli County is the main immigrating place in Taiwan for The Hakka people. The Liu Family of Shih-Chao-Yuan have inherited the Hakka Culture and inhabited in Miaoli for nearly three hundred years. One of Their offspring, named Rh-Yen-Liu,93 years now, collected all their clan’s will to built a huge tomb at private land where was named Shih-Chao-Yuan, to place all their ancestor’s bones in order to worship them in 1988.
