The major playwrights in the era of Elizabeth I Christopher Marlowe 克里斯托弗·马洛 (1564-1593) Life of Christopher Marlowe Marlowe was born in 1564 in Canterbury. He was an English dramatist, poet and translator of the Eliazabethan era. He left Cambridge and began the life of London playwright in 1587. Marlowes dramatic career was only to span 6 short years. During this time, he wrote the plays, The Jew of Malta, The Tragical History of Doctor Faustus, Edward II .
