Due to its special origin and some diachronic factors , however ,the idiom has its special characteristics, which makes it difficult to understand and use to some degree. In this article, we will begin with the analysis of the characteristics of the idiom, which will help us find out the some reasons why people can not use the idiom correctly. Then we will try to list the informal phenomenon of the use of the idiom. Finally, the emphasis of this article is that we will declare the necessity of using normative idioms, discuss the standards of normative idioms and put forward feasible means of standardizing idioms. As for the methods used by this article, we will analyze the reasons of informal phenomenon of using idioms from a diachronic perspective. At the same time, we will take the function of idioms into consideration, that is to say, we will put forward a series of measures to restrain the use of idioms from a synchronic perspective.
