Homotopy analysis method (HAM) is implemented to give approximate and analytical solutions of the presented problem. Keywords: Homotopy analysis method, Fractional order ordinary differential equations, Models of infectious diseases. 1 Introduction Mathematical models of infectious diseases [2] can provide important insight into our understanding of epidemiological processes, the course of infection within a host, the transmission dynamics in a host population, and formulation or implementation of infection control programs. The model presented here can be used to model any infectious disease of humans or wildlife with discrete disease states, irrespective of the number of disease states.
