汉语重叠英译在科技英语翻译中应用 　　在英译汉翻译中，字、词的重叠在修辞上是具有很明显的作用的。它不仅能把人、物、情、景描绘得有声有色，读来和谐优美，且还能加重词语的感情色彩，给人以强烈的感染力。 　　我们来看这样一句话：Remember Galileo， too， when you test your own ideas. How do you test food？ You smell it and test it. You use your nose and teeth and tongue. You can test many things like that with your hands and eyes. So do not only use numbers on paper. Weight things and measure them. Make a proper experiment. 当你验证自己的想法时，也得想想伽利略。你是怎样检验食物的？你闻一闻，尝一尝，你用鼻子、牙齿和舌头；你也能用手和眼检验许多东西。因此。不要只停留在纸上计算，得称一称东西，量一量它们，好好地做个实验。 　　“想想”，“闻一闻”，“尝一尝”，“称一称”，“量一量”，“好好”等几组汉语重叠的妙译，把在做实验时所进行的动作淋漓尽致地渲染出来。 　　一般来讲，英语除了强调或象声词等具有重叠形式外，其余很少有重叠现象。因此，在翻译成汉语重叠词时，要依据于英语的含义而定。能译出汉语重叠的类型大致如下： 　　1、名词的重叠 　　a. AA型：Perhaps one day in the future anyone will be able to take a trip to the moon， just like going on a train or bus journey. What an adventure that would be！ 也许将来会有一天人人都能到月球去旅行，就象乘火车或公共汽车旅行一样。那会是一次多么惊险的游历啊！ 　　b. AABB型：There are men and women on the platforms. They check that everything is all right. 站台上有许多男男女女工作人员。他们要检验一切情况是否正常。 　　2、数词的重叠 　　a. AA型：At specific point， the computer stops the tape and the user is asked to answer questions on the information presented. 在一定的段落，计算机会停止走带，要求使用者一一回答就讲解的材料所提出的一些问题。 　　b. AABB型：The workers came in together and went out by twos and threes. 工人们一起进来，三三两两出去。 　　3、量词的重叠 　　a. AA型：The Building is open to visitors every day and it’s particularly interesting to see. 这座大厦对游客天天开放，它的确引人如胜，值得一游。 　　b. ABB型：To an observer on earth， the sun seems to move farther and farther away from the equator to the north until on June 21st it seems to reach its farthest point north. 在地球上的观察者看来，太阳似乎远离赤道一步步向北移动，到六月二十一日，移动到了北面最远的地方。 　　c. AABB型：This is why people like computers and they are being made in increasing numbers year after year. 因此，人们喜欢上计算机，并一年一年的大批量生产。 　　当然，我们还能看到AA-x-BB型，如：Marxists hold that human society activity in production develops step by step from a lower to a higher level. 马克思主义者认为人类社会的生产活动，是一步又一步由低级向高级的发展。 　　4、代词的重叠 　　a.
