含“do you think”特殊疑问句句法结构分析 　　摘 要 本文从目前对“do you think”做插入语的普遍认识着手，用乔姆斯基的最简方案理论解释并阐明“do you think”句的生成过程，澄清“do you think”非但不是插入语，还是很重要的句子成分。并进一步讨论了“do you think”和“do you know”两个看似相似的句型为何在使用上会存在很大的差别。也希望由此引起学者们对功能语言学与形式语言学在解释实际问题上存在的分歧给予更多讨论，关注英语教学中的一些解释性错误。 　　关键词 do you think 特殊疑问句 插入语 移位 　　中图分类号：H314 文献标识码：A 　　Syntactic Analysis on wh- Sentence with do you think 　　ZHOU Lijing[1]， ZHOU Manli[2] 　　（[1] Foreign Language Department， School of Humanities， 　　Beijing University of Chinese Medicine， Beijing 100029 　　[2] Foreign Language Department， Jiangsu Maritime Institute， Nanjing， Jiangsu 211170） 　　Abstract Since wh- sentence with do you think are generally considered as parenthesis in the present English teaching process， this essay， based on Chomskys Minimalist Program theory， extends a clear and step-by- step analysis on the generation of this type of sentence， so as to clarify that do you think is not a parenthesis， instead， it is a very important component of the sentence. It is hoped that through this discussion， more discussion can be given to the difference raised between functional and formal linguistics on practical questions， more attention can be paid to rectify the explanatory mistakes in normal English teaching process. 　　Key words do you think； wh- question； parenthesis； movement 　　0 引言 　　上海市2002年的英语高考卷上有这样一道试题： 　　a ____ be sent to work there？ 　　A.Who do you suggest 　　B.Who do you suggest that should 　　C.Do you suggest who should 　　D.Do you suggest whom should （B）（籍万杰：2004） 　　籍万杰（2004）将此处的“do you suggest”处理为一种“分句用作插入语”的情况，她认为“插入语是一种独立成分，与句子的其他成分一般没有语法上的关系，大都是对一句话作一些附加说明或解释。”如果此处的“do you suggest”与其他成分没有语法关系，那么在分析句子的时候就可以把它暂时划掉，上句??变成“Who that should be sent to work there？”但是这样的话，”who”和它后面的”that”有何关系呢？不可能二者同时作主语。所以将“do you suggest”分析成插入语在解释上显然有一定问题。 　　同类问题还出现在对含“do you think”的特殊疑问句的分析中，初、高中的语法讲义多将此类“do you think”句列为插入语句的典型例子，如“What do you think is the fastest way to travel？”（付林：2003）；“When do you think they are leaving here？”（彭美珍：2005）；“W
