The bar chart shows the changes of workers’ educational backgrounds in a company in the years of 1991, 1996 and 2000. Overall, the number of people who have educational level of secondary decreased over the ten years whereas the number of those with higher educational level increased relatively. It can be clearly seen that the staff members of different educational backgrounds in this company are divided into four categories, namely secondary, bachelor, master and PhD. Those who completed secondary education fall into the first category and the number of the workers in this category fell sharply from 60 in 1991 to about 34 in 1996 and to less than 20 in 2000. The second group is those with a bachelor degree and they witnessed a significant rise from 20 in 1991 to approximately 43 in 1996, but then fell back to about 32 in 2000. (and then the trend reversed) .Those who have a master degree in this company increased considerably from less than 5 in 1991 to nearly 36 over the following 10 years. It is worth mentioning that there was no one with PhD degree in this company in 1991, but there was 1 in 1996 and this figure grew dramatically to 6 in 2000. In conclusion, the number of workers who have a lower educational level decreased whereas the staff members with higher educational background increased relatively over the ten years.(230words) In 1991, most workers were of secondary educational background and there was no Dr. in this company. However, workers with bachelor degree account for the largest proportion in this company and there was 1 Doctor in 1996.
