绪 论 * * The ventilation has two purposes: - to supply the car with air - to extract used air from the car There are a number of temperature sensors in the cars to monitor whether it is too hot or cold. The HVAC functions - heating, cooling, ventilation - are controlled by a climate control unit which monitors ventilation and temperature in the car. During normal operation this control unit determines how to maintain a constant temperature. The heating system should maintain a steady temperature of 22°C even at outside temperatures down to - 25°C. The climate control unit communicates with the vehicle control unit. If there is a fire outside the train the air intake ducts can be shut to prevent smoke getting into the train. In the event of a fire inside the train, smoke can be vented by running the exhaust air fan at maximum. A HVAC unit for the passenger saloon is mounted in a recess in the roof of each car. There are intake grilles above window level on both sides of the car where the HVAC unit is installed. short air ducts (intake ducts) route air from the grilles to the HVAC unit. The HVAC unit air intake is connected to the intake ducts and the recirculated air ducts. The HVAC unit outlet is connected to an air duct called the supply air duct. On top of the HVAC unit are hatches for maintenance access. The drivers cab is equipped with a HVAC unit without a cooling system which takes conditioned air from the passenger saloons. The HVAC unit is located between the ceiling and roof.
