On June 1, 2003 ,the first phase of water impoundment began,the water impoundment was beginning,and the water level reached 135-139m.In September 2006, the second phase of water impoundment began,and the water level reached 145-156m. Three Gorges Reservoir was a kind of river canyon-type reservoir,and formed a large number of large or small Bays in a long strand of the reservoir banks. Three Gorges Reservoir held about 26 major tributaries,and their Bay surface water accounts for about one-third of the total reservoir area. Due to the wide surface as well as the original backwater water of the main stream area of the Yangtze River, flow of the Bays of the tributaries was slow and these Bays were eutrophication multiple waters. This paper，I studied rotifer as bioindicator to explore changes in ecology of the Bays after water impoundment. I focused on the Daning River, and research on changes in the ecology of rotifer and their ecological response to water scheduling.The followings are the main content of the research.. From April, 2006 to January, 2007, seasonal investigations about rotifers were carried out of in the Bays of main tributaries of Three Gorges Reservoir. The results showed that the composition of rotifer species in the Bays of the tributaries was rich. 67 rotifer species were recorded,belonging to 18 families and 33 genus. Among these rotifer species, Polyarthr trigla、Keratella cochlearis、Trichocera pusilla were the main dominant species. The composition and amount of rotifer species showed an obvious seasonal and space variation. Summer had more species,and winter had less species. Although the species number of rotifer was near or same at different season and in different Bay, the composition of rotifer species was different. The den
