IntroductionBritishVictorianPeriod(1837-1901)sawmanygreatpoetesses,amongwhomChristinaGeorginaRossetti（1830-1894）hasbeenofgreatnoteworthiness.ChristinahasbeenconsideredtobeoneofthemosttalentedpoetessesinBritainandquitealegendaryandmysteriouspoetess.ShedevoutlyheldtheAnglicanChurchbelief.Inspiteofbeingastay-at-homeVictorianpoetess,sheconcealedarichandmysticalinnerworldofloveunderherquietdailylife.Areadercancomprehendthesecretoflifefromherjewel-likeandbriefpoetrysuffusedwithreligiouspiety.AfterChristinaG.Rossetti’sdeathin1894,attentionhasbeendrawntoChristina.AbiographicallycriticalstudyonChristinaandherpoetryhasprevaileduptillnow.Since1985,thenon-ChineseresearchonChristinahasrenewedscholarlyexaminations.InChina,forquitealongtime,criticalresearchesonChristinaG.RossettiandherpoetryhavenotraisedmuchattentionfromChinesereadersandscholarsinspiteofChinesefamousliteraturetranslatorandpoetTuAn’sfirstintroductiontoChinesereadersandscholarsin1994.Andseveralotherscholars’publisheddomesticarticlesonChristinaandherpoetry.Thisthesis,throughSigmundFreud’sPsychoanalyticalstudy,shedseffortsonapproachingtheevolutionofloveintheprimepoetrytoshowChristinaG.Rossetti’sinnerworld.TheLivingBackgroundofChristinaG.RossettiDuringthetwohundredyearsbetweenthe17thandthe18thcenturies,greatchangestookplace.EspeciallytheIndustrialRevolutionbroughtaboutgreatdevelopmenttothesocialproductiveforces,pushingthewesternsocietyintotheprocessofmodernization.Unfortunately,materialcivilizationbroughtlittlehighly-developedspiritualcivilization,andthepainfulcrythat“Godisdead”wasoverWesternworld.Intheearthlyworld,advertisingmenbecamefivebigletterswalkinginthestreets,pressingmachinescalledpeople’sattentionbyhumanlikelanguages,thevaluablenaturalresourcesweredestroyed,theJewswerepersecutedhereandthere;andsoon.Theresultofthegreatchangesabovewasamodern“wasteland”withtraditionalandcompletelydestroyedsocialethics,justice,ordersandprinciples.Therewasnohumandignity,nosafetyorsecurity,nocommunicationorunderstanding,nomeaningfu
