In recent years, several fatal accidents have happened as the result of disabled grounding system. So the calculation of grounding system parameters include grounding, resistance, step and touch potentials and the surface potential distribution of earth have become an important part for designs of power system. In this paper, firstly the current distribution of vertical grounding electrode in two layer soils is accurately calculated by using image method according to equal voltage on the surface. To meet the practical requirements, a program is designed by VC++ and a legible chart is drawn on the basis of systemic calculation. Since many factors can affect the value of grounding resistance, a new concept-ratio of similarity is adopted. On the foundation of standard model, it is very convenient to get the exact value by multiplying the amendatory coefficient under various instances.
