A Study of Oral English Teaching to Rural Middle School Students in an Ecological Classroom By Zhang Qin Under Supervision of Professor Zhu Weihong Submitted in Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements For the Degree of Master of Education School of Foreign Languages Soochow University August, 2013 i i 生态课堂下的农村初中生英语口语研究 摘 要 摘 要 英语作为一门语言，本身就具有社会性，学习者需要在与他人的交流中培养运用 语言的能力。虽然我国改革开放以来英语教育取得了巨大的进步，但是以“教师讲授， 学生听记”为主的灌输式传统英语教学课堂忽略了师生及生生间的互动与交流，导致 了很多“哑巴英语”的现象，致使学生不能真正地获得运用语言的能力，随之在口语 考试中也不能取得理想的成绩。这种现象在农村初中生中尤为明显。现在，英语新课 程改革内容体现了密切联系社会及学生的生活, 总体目标是培养学生的语言综合运 用能力。哪种才是能有效促进农村初中生口语教学成效的课堂模式呢？ 本文以生态课堂的概念、理论基础以及国内外合作学习的研究现状为基础，使用 访谈法、实验研究法﹑问卷调查法和教学日志等研究法，在苏州市浒墅关中学初三年 级一个班级的英语教学中，对生态课堂进行了实证研究，探索生态课堂是否比传统的 英语课堂更有利于提高学生的英语口语成绩。 通过对比两次英语口语测试和问卷及访谈的结果，证明了生态课堂教学比传统的 英语教课堂更有利于提高学生的英语口语成绩，激发学生学习英语的兴趣以及改善英 语课堂的气氛。这些分析可以帮助初中英语教师更好的进行生态课堂的教学。 关键词：生态课堂；口语教学；促进作用 作 者：张 琴 指导老师：祝蔚红 ii ii Abstract 生态课堂下的农村初中生英语口语研究 Abstract English, as a language, is social. Learners need to develop the ability of using English by communicating with others. With the development of China’s reform and opening policy, English education has made great progress. However, the traditional teacher-centered English teaching ignores the interaction and communication not only between teachers and students but also among students. As a result, a lot of “dumb English” phenomenon has appeared and students cant really achieve the ability of using English. And they can’t get good grades in the oral test either. The phenomenon specially happens among rural middle school students. Now, the new English curriculum reform content reflects the close ties between society and the students life, the overall goal is to cultivate the students comprehensive language using ability. Which classroom teaching mode can promote rural middle school students’ oral English?
