Thanks * Are you satisfied with your physical appearance? Why or why not? What do you think defines beauty? Why? * Have you ever heard about the “The Most Beautiful High School Students / Vocational School Students” beauty contest? Has anyone in your school been given the honor? If so, why do you think he or she is “beautiful”? Why, you may think1, can’t I be as beautiful as a movie star? Well, the answer is you can and it doesn’t require2 any expensive plastic surgery or a Meitu Xiuxiu app. All you need2 is to develop your “inner” beauty. * SENTENCES A teacher colleague of mine1 (her English name is Penny) has such2 inner beauty. 1 a teacher colleague of mine相当于one of my teacher colleagues。 * SENTENCES * SENTENCES They had spent their vacation getting plastic surgery and their puffy faces no longer matched1 their passport photos ... If only2 they had known my friend Penny and ... 1 注意match的用法。 不可说one thing matches to或matches with another,而要说one thing matches another或two things match。 2 有关If only ... 注意不要将if only和only if相混淆。 * 1. In spite of ____________ work as editor, hack writer and sea captain, he wound up poor. 2. At first ____________, the hotel seems like it got stuck in a time machine — an analog clock here, an Eames-style chair there. 3. The people were driven to ___________ by the horrors of war. 4. Art is never a commodity (商品). Commodities are identical units of sure value — bushels of wheat, say — whose price changes from time to time and place to place. Artworks are one-of-a-kind items, materially worthless, which have in common tha
