Most of the studies on thermal comfort are carried out under normal pressure condition. The PMV-PPD index，which is wideIy used，is based on the so called stable and approaching to comfort envirorunent and the testing people are from the Occident.1te practical application shows that many factors like geography location，climate condition，living habit，architecture style，heating and air conditioning system style and eveo the econornic level have important inf1uence on human thermal comfort. The climate condition includes temperature ，relative humidity，air-f1ow velocity and atmospheric pressure. Under special conditions，e.g. lower- oxygeo lower-pressure altitude eovirorunent ，it is worthwhiIe and oecessary to do more research work about the applicability of PMV，because the physiological responses of human body and heat exchanges 响th environment are different from that in norrnal environment. This paper is supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (Project Nurnber . lt emphasizes on therrnal comfort problems at a1titude below 3000m，viz. as严nptomatic altitude reaction regions.
