Routines in ODS check and verify file formats, for instance, and crosscheck and validate the part numbers for the products the vendor has moved against a Microsoft master parts list. After ODS attempts to clean and validate the files, a pass/fail indicator and detailed quality metrics are sent back to the vendor. If ODS is unable to clean the data, it indicates where the error is, enabling the vendor to identify and correct the information. The entire processing cycle, from upload completion to the availability of processing statistics, takes approximately 15 minutes. Previously, this could take one or more days to accomplish.
