II II ABSTRACT With the rapid development of computer network, web technology, featured by its popularity, interaction, rapidness, and ease-of-use, has already infiltrated into all aspects of society. Meanwhile, driven by the market, the scale of application software continues to expand, and the complexity of software system continues to increase. IT systems have already become one of the most important systems in the daily business of all kinds of enterprises. The quality and stability of these systems have a direct influence on the quality of external services provided by the enterprise. That’s why web application system functional testing has aroused more and more attention. Web application system testing includes functional testing, performance testing and safety testing, etc. The functional testing, also known as acceptance testing, is the final and most important step of testing, as it directly reflects the quality of services provided by web applications. Moreover, the results of functional testing affect the running span of software system and whether or not it could meet users’ requirements. So, functional testing problems have become the most troubling problems of web application systems. Some achievements have been made in the research of Web testing, a number of methods and strategies have been proposed. However, web application system testing still concentrates on performance testing and safety testing. Not enough attention has been paid on the research of functional testing. This paper did a lot of theoretical research on web application system functional testing. By the research of function testing content and the analysis of Web application system characteristic, we suggested that one kind of Web application system function testing schemes covering unit-test and system-test.
