I I Abstract This report focuses on how to do the translation work of Family Fortunes. As a cooperative project, the author is responsible for Chapter three of this book, Based on the translation work, the author probes into the problems encountered in the process of translation. This report adopts a pragmatic approach to financial translation by combining theory and practice in the field. The author makes a critical analysis on examples and introduces key terms and concepts relating to the financial field. As a financial article, the language style of Family Fortunes is simple, formal and professional. The author holds that during the process of translation, the translator should master not only translation techniques but also an all-around professional knowledge and some cross-cultural information. Only in this way, can he do good translation. This report consists of five chapters. In the first chapter, the author made a brief introduction to the translation work. In the second chapter, the author presents the translation process which is divided into pre-translation, mid-translation and post-translation. In the third chapter, the author makes a theoretical analysis on the translation process, focusing on Nida’s translation theory and the theories guiding the translation practice. In
