II II Abstract The main purpose of this thesis is to discuss onomatopoeias in The Entire Tang Poems in a full-scale aspect, and to study the characteristics, function and usage rules of the onomatopoeia in Tang poem. The thesis is to find out the rules of the using of onomatopoeia in classical Chinese poem furtherly. The analysis is in four aspects: Firstly, according to the different contents of the onomatopoeias imitation, we classify and statistics collected onomatopoeia in detail. We classify the word meaning of onomatopoeia in 4 categories: the voice of people onomatopoeia, the voice of animal onomatopoeia, the voice of material onomatopoeia, the voice of nature onomatopoeia. Secondly, we discuss word-using and word-shape of onomatopoeias in Tang poem. In terms of word-using, the onomatopoeias in Tang poem have three forms: the onomatopoeic word, the sound of words and the special characters; In terms of word-shape, the onomatopoeias in Tang poem have three forms: profiled synonyms, similar(or near) to different words, allotropy words. Thirdly, we analyze the distribution of onomatopoeias in Tang poem from the aspects of consonants, vowels and intonation, and discuss the connection between word meaning and pronunciation of onomatopoeias. By analyzing the AB-type onomatopoeias and four syllables onomatopoeia, we get some regular features. Fourthly, we analyze the syntax of onomatopoeias in Tang poem from aspects of the combined capacity and syntactic function comprehensively. The onomatopoeias in Tang poem always combine with the nouns and verbs components, and mainly work as the predicate, attribute, adverbial elements in the sentence. Finally, we analyze specific characteristics of onomatopoeias in the Tang poem from the aspects of the using and expression combine with literary and rhetorical knowledge. In this part, we mainly discuss the onomatopoeias and the poet, the onomatopoeias and the poem images, the onomatopoeias and expressing effect. Keywords: The E
