[Abstract] Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of experience-based education of complications on blood glucose level and self-management ability in the patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods 60 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus who were admitted to our hospital from February to October 2016 were selected as the study subjects, and were randomly divided into study group and control group, with 30 patients in each group. The study group was given intervention program of experience-based education of complications, and the control group was given intervention program of routine education. The levels of fasting blood glucose(FBG), glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c) and self-care ability were compared between the two groups 1, 3 and 6 months after discharge, and A-DQOL was used to compare the quality of life between the two groups before and after the intervention. Results The levels of FBG and HbA1c in the study group 1, 3 and 6 months after intervention were significantly lower than those before intervention(P0.05); the levels of FBG and HbA1c in the control group at 6 months after intervention were significantly lower than those before intervention(P0.05). At 3 months and 6 months after intervention, the levels of FBG and HbA1c in the study group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P0.05). Conclusion The experience-based education of complications can effectively control the blood glucose level of patien
