万方数据 万方数据 Abstract With the development of the national economy, especially such international races as Beijing Olympic Games and Nanjing Youth Olympic Games are held in China, the importance of Public Security is particularly prominent. And with the construction of safety city, surveillance system is also widely deployed. Surveillance and retrieval cannot be fulfilled manually in front of the huge video messages, and then intelligent video analysis technology is required. This paper focuses on two core technology--license plate recognition and face recognition and their application in surveillance system. Firstly, this paper describes the classification of license plate recognition algorithms, summarizes the classical car plate location and detection algorithms, and focuses on the analysis on the license plate location methods based on machine learning. Secondly, this paper carries on the classification of the face recognition algorithms, focuses on the ADABOOST algorithm and then presents the experimental results of the ADABOOST algorithm. Finally, combined with the actual businesses of public security user, this paper presents the public security system framework, and discusses the application of license plate recognition and face recognition in public security system.
