Explanation:Hepatocellular jaundice Hepatitis A is unusual in patients of this age, but nevertheless the LFTs are essentially hepatocellular - with moderate elevation of bilirubin, marked elevation of AST, and mild elevation of AP. Jaundice in men of this age is commonly obstructive (Ca pancreas, impacted gall stones), but the surgeon correctly referred the patient to a medical firm.
