形容词与副词比较级最高级用法要点
形容词和副词的比较级、最高级在英语语言使用中，出现的频率较高，因此，学好形容词和副词的比较级、最高级对学好英语有着很重要的意义。形容词和副词比较级、最高级也是历年来各省市中考的重要考点。由于形容词的比较级、最高级与副词的比较级、最高级用法几乎一致（主要区别：副词最高级可以省略the，而形容词不可），所以本文将两种词性的比较级、最高级合在一起阐述。
一、 比较级、最高级的使用场合
1. 含比较对象用比较级：
I am taller than you three.
Cars go faster than bikes.
2. 含比较范围用最高级：
Jack played basketball the most wonderfully of the ten players.
（此句中Jack和player在同一层面，故用介词of）
The sun is the nearest in the universe.
（此句中sun和universe不在同一层面，故用介词in）
This is the most interesting book that I have ever read.
（注：比较范围有三种：a.in引导的介词短语 b.of引导的介词短语 c.定语从句）
3. one of 结构中形容词用最高级：
He is one of the most popular teachers in my school.
4. 序数词后形容词、副词常用最高级：
The Yellow River is the second longest river in China.
5. 同等比较、无比较不用比较级、最高级，要用原级：
This book is as interesting as that one.
The river is very long.
How slowly the old man is walking！
二、 几个值得注意的问题
1. 特殊的比较对象：
He is taller than the other students in my class.
He is taller than any other student in my class.
（注：第二句与下面句子有很大区别：He is taller than any student in my class.前句意为他在这个班，后句意为他不在这个班）
2. 特殊的比较范围：
He is the taller of the two.
（注：比较范围为两者时，比较级前加the）
3. 比较级连用（表示越来越……）：
He is getting taller and taller.
Our country is becoming more and more beautiful.
4. “The+比较级……，the+比较级……”句型（表示越……，越……）：
The more you eat，the fatter you will be.
5. 注意比较对象的一致：
Your dog is fatter than I.（应把I改成mine）
The weather in Beijing is cooler than in Nanjing.
（than后加that）
6. 比较级前的修饰词：
比较级前可加 a little，much，even，far等修饰词，但不可加too，more，very，quite，so等词。eg.Long distance calling is much more expensive than E-mailing.
7. less，the least加形容词、副词原级可构成反比较级、反最高级：
Math is less interesting than English.（数学没英语有趣）
？摇Travelling by air is the least comfortable.（坐飞机最不舒服）
8. 选择疑问句，由参选数目决定用比较级、最高级：
Whichgoes faster，a plane or train？（两者用比较级）
Which is the best season，spring， summer，autumn or winter？
（三者、三者以上用最高级）
