What is reading? Reading is a process of constructing meaning through the dynamic interaction among the reader’s existing knowledge, the information suggested by the written language, and the context of the reading situation. (Anthony, Pearson, Raphael,1993:284 * Three theories Bottom-up model (自上而下模式) Top-down model(自下而上模式) Interactive model(交互模式) * 是一种逐词逐句理解文章的阅读方式。由单词到句子到语篇的解码过程。 文本驱动阅读(自上而下阅读方式)bottom-up approach 重点:vocabulary, functional grammar, phrases * 是一种利用大脑图式描述知识帮助理解文本的阅读方式。阅读就是一个猜测游戏,它强调背景知识在阅读中的作用。 图式驱动阅读 (自下而上阅读方式)top –down approach 重点:语篇的理解 * 阅读过程读者要借助多种渠道的信息才能理解文本。即有文本的信息如词汇,句法和语篇,又包括图式知识。读者对文本的信息部分既依赖于文本的信息,又依赖于读者已有的相关知识。 交互阅读模式Interactive-approach 重点:篇章和语言知识的相互作用 * 1.To develop an awareness of reading strategies necessary for successful reading comprehension. 2.To expand vocabulary and develop techniques for continues increase of vocabulary. 3.To develop an awareness of linguistic and rhetorical structures found in reading texts.
