Abstract Since the reform and opening up, urbanization, as an important historical task of Chinas modernization, has experienced a low starting but fast development process under the driven of the market and industrialization. At present, China has entered into a critical period of opportunity and transformation for the economic and social development: Population size is growing, rural farmland protection and urban construction land demand are inflating at the same time, the contradiction between people and land is tight, Land resources bottleneck restricting economic development continue to highlight and urbanization development faces many challenges. From 1978 to 2013, Chinas urbanization had grown at an average annual growth of about 1 percent; urbanization accelerates the rural population into urban population in the process.
