PAGE PAGE iv PAGE 1 毕 业 论 文 毕业论文题目：红楼笑语的英译研究 学生姓名： 学 号： 院（系）： 专 业： 班 级： 指导教师姓名： 指导教师职称： 起止时间： 2012年10月—2012年5月 红楼笑语的英译研究 摘 要：《红楼梦》一书中众多人物的语言和对话各具特色，这些对话往往由“笑道”引出，若仅用“smiled and said”来翻译，就会使人物形象模糊化，也不利于传达人物笑语背后所隐含的深刻意义。根据前人对笑语翻译的研究，发现“笑道”大致有三种译法，分别为译“笑”不译“道”，译“道”不译“笑”，“笑”与“道”均不译，本论文则是在这三种译法的指导下对人物笑语进行分析研究。论文由五部分组成，第一部分对林黛玉的笑语分为三大类：冷笑、暖笑、苦笑。并通过对各种笑语的翻译逐类分析展现林黛玉的孤独愁苦的心境，这是论文的重重之重。接下来四部分则是对王熙凤、史湘云、史太君以及百笑图等等的笑语进行分析，揭示其身份、地位和性格，进而研究译本的贴切性。总之，从目的语读者的审美角度而言，红楼笑语的英译研究有利于目的语读者理解《红楼梦》中各种人物的性格特征，也有利于目的语读者理解《红楼梦》的深刻内涵，在一定程度上也促进了中国古典文化的传播。 关键词：《红楼梦》；人物对话；笑语；英译 The analysis on the English Translation of laughters in A Dream of Red Mansions Abstract: There are so many specialized languages and dialogues between characters in the book of A Dream In Red Mansions , these dialogues are drawn forth by the phrase “xiao dao”, while the simplistic translaition “smiled and said ” will blur the personalities of characters. besides, it will have a bad influence on showing the deep meanings behind laughters. Based on others’s studies on the translations of laughters ,I find that there are about three ways to translate them : only “xiao” is translated; only “dao” is translated: neither “xiao”and “dao” is translated. So the study of laughters in my paper is under the guidance of three ways, my analysis is made of five parts. The main point is on the study of the laughters of Daiyu whose laughers are classified in three kindsLengxiao, Nuanxiao, Kuxiao. The various translations will show Daiyu lonely and sorrow state. The following four parts will study Xifeng, Xiangyun,The Old Lady one after one and Group of smile figures, showing their unique state, position and personality as well as judging the appropriateness of different transltions. In short , on the aethetic point of the readers of the target language ,the study will be helpful for them to understand the figures in A Dream In Red Mansions as well as its profound connotation,and to som
