PAGE PAGE III The relation between metabolic syndrome and the occurrence of atrial fibrillation to patients with coronary heart disease Abstract Objective: To analyze the differences of the occurrence of metabolic syndrome (MS) among the three groups, which were patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS), patients with stable angina pectoris (SAP) and normal healthy persons. And the relation between all component parts of MS and the occurrence of atrial fibrillation (AF) to patients with coronary heart disease (CHD). Method: The 152 patients confirmed to CHD were chosen to analyze and divided into two groups, ACS group (72 cases, suffered with ACS) and SAP group (80 cases, suffered with SAP), according to clinical type. The factors of sex, smoking, alcohol, stroke were no different between two groups (P0.05). All patients were sighed with informed consent, and received by therapy based on Standard of diagnosis and treatment. The 80 persons received health examinations were chosen to control group. The difference of MS occurrence was compared among three groups. And the below indexes were detected for patients in three groups. Basic physical measurement: The indexes of height, weight were measured among three groups, and the BMI of three groups was calculated. The indexes of SBP, DBP were measured among three groups, and the indexes of PP and MBP in three groups were calculated. Laboratory examination: The samples of the venous blood after above 12 hours fasting overnight were gotten, and the indexes of FPG, HbA1c, TC, TG, HDL-C, LDL-C, BUN and UA were measured among three groups. Echocardiography examination: The indexes of LAD, LVEDd, IVS, LVPW and LVEF were detected by cardiac color Doppler instrument.
