Abstract Abstract PAGE PAGE IV As we all know, values determine one’s student years and choice of careers and even life path, therefore, to help college students set up correct view of value is the key point of college education. Over the last decade of 21st century, our economic society has changed dramatically and so does the values of college students. On one hand, it represents our core value and on the other hand it inherits the best of our values and also inevitably it is affected by other values. Thus, to research on the values of our contemporary college students is significant, both in theory and practice sense, to the development of contemporary college students. This thesis is composed of two parts, including introduction part and main part. The introduction part offers us an overall outlook of the thesis an it mainly elaborates the significance, research status, approaches and main innovation parts of the research. The main body consists of three parts. In chapter one, on the basis of basic concepts of values, it elaborates the theory basis of values which includes philosophy, pedagogy, psychology and other subjects. And we have also carried out comparatively study on values in different historical period since the reform and opening up which helps us to make clear the relationship between the values and social development since the reform and opening up and straighten the ins and outs of the problem exists. In chapter two, we adopt the method of documentary research, comparative study, system research, historical research etc to analyze the status quo of college students’ values including their perceptions in values, the characteristics, tendency of values, and conflicts existed, on which the whole evaluation and reconstructions on values is based. In chapter three, this paper explores the proposal of construction of values, in this case, we shall reinforce the education of university to strengthen the public education of the core value system of soc
