With the advent of the 21st century, our country has taken place in the political, economic, cultural, social tremendous changes. The one of main form of Chinas higher education universities also will be changed, as the one of the principal, the students of the University whether change. This is an urgent need for us to explore and study problem. Motivation refers to a behavior of power driven by the need to achieve a certain goal. It plays an aroused, adjust, maintain and stop the behavior. Motivation within the individual student prompted him to engage in learning activities driven process. It is one of the important topics of educational psychology and the psychology of learning research.
In educational psychology perspective, this research summed up the basic theories of learning motivation, used the learning motivation questionnaire for College Students to survey 3 universities in Guangdong Province, 1 university in Hubei Province, 2 universities in Beijing, a total of 590 undergraduates. Including the Shantou University 123, Shenzhen University 100, South China University of Technology 109, Wuhan University of Technology 58, Beijing Forestry University 54, Capital Normal University 59. In order to investigate the current situation of College Students learning motivation, and comparative research, discusses the results and analysis, obtained the following conclusions:
Conclusion 1 The current college students learning motivation total score with an average of 3.24, which the level of external motivation is higher than internal motivation, the dimensions, from high to low: ability to pursue got the highest score (3.82); dimensions of interest (3.12); altruistic orientation dimension was third (3.11); dimensions of reputation was lowest (2.92). Show the current college students learning motivation level is medium, with obvious characteristics .
Conclusion 2 The current college students motivation level there are significant gender differences
