Abstract
Nowadays the education and the achievements of university students are the focus of social concerns. The developing society requires university students not only high level of technology and professional skills, but also healthy psychological, especially the ability to withstand setbacks. As we all can notice from kinds of media, hundreds of thousands of tragedy affairs caused by setbacks that university students encounter during their daily life arise every day and there can be so many reasons for the setbacks: academic pressure, emotion issues, financial pressure, career choice and social communication difficulties, etc. As a result, the setback education for university students has been a common concern of the community.
Throughout the current situation of setback education in universities in China, we can clearly see the improvements and achievements, but in the long-term, we should focus on the negative problems exist in setback education. For example, some universities don’t pay enough attention to setback educations, they focus on form instead of effectiveness; setback educations in some universities are monotonous and cannot meet the needs of social development; the education method is not diversification and the facilities and faculties are not professional; for the students themselves, most of them have little knowledge of their own psychological health condition and they don’t pay attention to the relative knowledge. All the above reasons lead to the result that the current setback education for university students is not effective enough.
This essay concludes all of the above reasons into three types: university, students and society. To improve the effectiveness of setback education, the university faculty must play the leading role, the leaders must pay enough attention to the setback education and focus on the innovation of education form and real effects, and the investment on psychological consultant can be enforced.
