Aluminium toxicity is t he major factor limiting crop growt h on acid soils ,which greatly affect s t he crop produc tivity on about 40 % cultivated soils of t he world and 2 1 % of China . In t he p ast decades ,a lot of researches on a luminium toxicity and resistant mechanisms have been doing ,and great progress was achieved . This p ap er dealt wit h t he genetic differences in aluminium tolerance among plant s ,screening and selecting met hods and technolo gies for identifying aluminium resistance in plant s ,and p hysiological and molecular mechanism resistance to alu minium toxicity . Some asp ect s needed to be furt her studied were also briefly discussed .
