AbstractIn Abstract In the economic globalization today,the multinational corporatlous and intemational仃ades have been developping sharply,the flow of resources and factors of production are not confined to one country and region，but are usually allocated optimizly in the global．Poas as transportation link between land and sea play an important role in economy of every country, China has long coastline and drainage basins，rich resources of waterage promote the flourish of ports．While cognizing the important of ports economy in the national economy,the central and local governments are zealously supporting and constructing coastal and river ports．Now,there are 1 65 ports along the coasline．。 The objectives and market positioning ofdifferent levels and different types ofport business are different in our country．Even ifthe ports have same level and size，their scope and focus of logistics services are different．Logistics services in each portcant be blind to follow and compete，but should act in line with its own port logisticsdevelopment strategy and mode． In above background，，this article on the basis ofpredecessors research results，focus on the conditions and basis of domestic port development，the author builds up a set of port logistics development model system model and integrated evaluation indicators system，selects the eight major ports along China’s coast as research objects，USe qualitative and quantitative methods to expatiate the importance of port logistics in the socio—economic as well as modem logistics． Analyze the reasons of port competition,the way and significance of competition．Through analyzing operation situation comparatively among the representative port of Chinas three major ports groups,find out their advantages and disadvantages and compare our major ports under international environment．By establish the indext system to evaluate the competition， using VC++and SPSS statistical software to carry on clustering analysis evaluation of the eight maj
