Abstract Informatization construction as an important means of enterprise’s development has got more and more attention. On one side, the information system with the functions of publishing information and online FAQ etc plays an important role in improving the enterprise appearance and making propaganda. On the other side, the management system with the functions of clubber management etc will greatly improve the management level of the enterprise. And as the professional fitness organization, fitness club gains more and more attention. But with the scale’s expansion and the increase of the customer, traditional management method will not fit the modern development tendency of fitness club, so it is necessary to introduce informatization into club’s daily management which will provide scientific and efficient management. Based on the above background, this paper proposes the design and implementation of a fitness club information management system, which includes three subsystems: a portal subsystem, a member center subsystem and a background management subsystem. The portal subsystem provides services for regular visitors, including introduction and daily information release of the club and etc. The member center subsystem provides services for registered members of the system, including online consulting, online purchase membership and etc. Background management subsystem is for system administrators to manage and maintain normal operations of the whole system. The system adopts B/S as the architecture and MVC as the development model. Based on J2EE development platform the system integrated Struts2, Spring and Hibernate framework as the main development technology. Proxool tool is used as the database connection pool technology. By functional and performance tests, it shows that the system has accurate and complete functions with good performance, and can satisfy the daily information management needs of fitness clubs.
